Well here we are again! Cant stay away. Weather gorgeus (26°-30°), went to Pilone a couple of times, trevelled over to Gallipol and up to Bari (not recommended for the pleint hated..(?)..).
Campomarino a couple of times (busy). Franco and Watsana took us to the Oria Spring fest, a famous Singer at the concert and a hog roast in the streets. Feast day of St. Anthony, a large procession through the town with a Brass band and afterwards a meal at their home cooked by Watsana, with their friends. We were ….(?) by them ….(?) we were home, gonna home to check the lottery tickets! May be back next week!

30th May – 6th June 2005 – HOT! (Unit S. Maria al Tempio)
We arrived here with our 2 yr old daughter Lola + our 1/yr son Nyles. Whilst ( ?) in was very kara ( ?) keeping them both amused, the have had a good time, as have we.
Ostuni- is lovely white city. Visit old town for terrific restaurants in cuvering (?) serving regional dishes.
Rosa marina – quiet beach, good for children.
Lecce. Visit amphitheatre, look at honey coloured buildings. Great ……… cafes there.
There are some great quiet beaches between Campomarino and Gallipoli. Again great places for the Kids.
Gallipoli is lovely. Quite a drive but you can hang around, great seafood restaurants here.
In Oria we dined in the restaurant on the main square in a courtyard. They were very patient and we ate well. The people in Oria have been very friendly , my daughter had taken to saying “chao” to everyone! Alberobello – wery quait + surreal. Overtuk by tourists, lots of souvenir shops, dominated by tourism, but nice to see the houses (a bit boring for young children though!). Francesco & Watsana are great hosts helping to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

Thank you to Francesco and Watsana for being so warm and friendly to us on our first trip to Italy. Their friends were also very kind and their food and hospitality second to none! It made up for the bad weather. We visited Lecce, Ostuni, Alberobello, Campomarino, the caves (amazing!) and enjoyed all of these Francesco’s friends in the countryside cooked us a typical Italian meal, delicious!! Much wine!! We hope that if they ever visit England they will look us up and visit, so that we can attempt to repay them for their kindness and hospitality.
The apartment is fantastic, atmospheric, love all the local ceilings in particular the Bed so comfy we found it difficult to get up in the mornings!!
Thanks again Francesco and Watsana and do E-mail us if ever you come to England. You would be welcome to stay with us, by then may be we will have learnt’ Italian!!
